We’re looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team!
THE ROLE
Casual Kitchen Assistant working as part of a small team to produce a variety of high quality products from scratch.
Shifts start from 5.30am Tuesday – Friday (20 – 30 hours each week). Baked by M&G will provide comprehensive training in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment.
Your role may include:
- Assisting the business owners Melanie & Georgia with baking tasks, as well as working independently to prepare a range of sweets and savouries for the shop and pre-orders. Examples of tasks include making sandwiches, hand-rolling cookie/biscuit dough, making rice pudding etc.
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene in food preparation and presentation.
- General cleaning & dish washing duties.
You must have:
- A passion for baking – You have a love for baking and value the art of making food from scratch.
- Bakery / cafe experience (not compulsory, but highly regarded) – Skills and experience in food preparation and presentation, as well as knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Attention to detail – You must place equal importance on both taste and presentation.
- Adaptability – Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- A positive attitude – We are looking for someone to put as much care into their role as we do.

Barista / Shop Assistant Application
We are currently seeking individuals who can work multiple shifts each week (Wednesday – Friday, with the potential to extend to weekends). Shift timings will either be 6.45am – 1.45pm (i.e. opening shift), or 8.00am – 3.30pm (i.e. closing shift).
Your role will include:
- Serving customers
- Making coffee
- General cleaning & dish washing duties
- General kitchen / re-stocking duties
This position is for you if:
- You have at least 1 year experience as a barista.
- You appreciate quality, hand-made baked goods.
- You are passionate about giving excellent customer service.
- You have a positive attitude – we are really looking for someone to put as much care into their role as we do!
